The TK Edimex tennis club is at Frydlant nad Ostravici, which is a tennis great power in the Czech Republic. The founding of this tennis club preceded the establishment of the tennis club belonging to the Ferrum plant in 1924. Way back before the war this tennis club had two courts and immediately after the war a third court was built. By the year 2000 there were 6 courts. In 1996 the tennis club became an independent entity and TK Czechpol Energy Frydlant nad Ostravici was founded. The tennis club is situated in an ideal peaceful environment on the banks of the river Ostravice where in 1997 a new tennis indoor court was also completed.
The indoor court belongs to the best of its kind in the Czech Republic. It boasts of an excellent architectural design which achieves international standards and offers 3 tennis courts with a Taraflex surface. Furthermore there is room for 500 spectators, a running track, modern fitness centre, whirlpool, massage facilities, perfect social amenities, a reception area and a boutique with sports gear.
The tennis club also affords standard accommodation in the hotel Panorama where the cuisine is good and facilities available for sports events, courses, seminars. This tennis complex will satisfy the most demanding customers for there is also a summer swimming pool and sauna. In 2001 the club was renamed TK Edimex after the main sponsor.
